International Investors to visit Wiltshire
Monday, 1st March 2010
Wiltshire will be showcased to international investors when overseas representatives of the South West Regional Development Agency (SWRDA) visit the county later this month.
SWRDA’s representatives from countries including Australia, USA, China, Japan and India will be shown what Wiltshire has to offer foreign investors at a series of presentations.
Wiltshire Council and the local economic partnerships will meet the delegation at the Castledown Business Centre in Ludgershall. This project was developed in partnership with SWRDA to support both new businesses and small and medium enterprises in the region.
Peter Wheelhouse, head of economic development at Wiltshire Council, said: “The event will promote Wiltshire internationally and show what the county has to offer in terms of business investment.
“We will demonstrate Wiltshire’s successful economy, its highly qualified workforce, competitive costs of working and living, and its ambitious plans for the future. These include the Chippenham, Trowbridge and Salisbury Vision projects.”
Peter Wheelhouse will give a presentation, followed by talks with businesses already located in the area, sharing experiences from international businesses that have relocated to the region.
The afternoon will also include a presentation from Visit Wiltshire, the county’s tourism service, to promote the superb quality of life in Wiltshire.
