Excellence of Salisbury Tourist Information Centre officially accredited
Tuesday, 27th April 2010
Salisbury Tourist Information Centre is celebrating this week having been accredited by the British Quality Foundation and European Foundation for Quality Management as officially being “Committed to Excellence”.
The team at the visitor centre embarked on the Tourism Business Excellence programme last October, focussing on the development of three key areas involving customer feedback, accommodation reservations, and staff training, and are the first Tourist Information Centre in England to achieve this prestigious award.
Mark Bell, Levels of Excellence Manager at the British Quality Foundation commented “I am delighted that Salisbury TIC have made a commitment to improving performance by completing the Committed to Excellence (C2E) standard. They are the first Tourist Information Centre in the country to achieve this. What was most pleasing to see was their clear commitment to improving customer satisfaction, as well as the high level of staff involvement in the process. The three projects completed will help deliver long term benefits in terms of what they are achieving. I wish them well as their Excellence journey continues.”
Jane Fry MBE, Manager at Salisbury Tourist Information Centre, said “We are thrilled with our latest achievement. This accreditation is particularly welcome as the team here always work so hard to provide such an outstanding level of customer care. We welcome thousands of visitors to Salisbury every year adding value to their tourism experience and bringing benefits to the business community in the city”.
The news of the accreditation comes just a few months after the team at Salisbury Tourist Information Centre received recognition as finalists in the South West Excellence Awards and Salisbury & District Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards.
