Typical Salisbury Plain scenery, Ludgershall is probably the most important settlement in Tidworth as historically, it was from here that the Army developed its establishments across Salisbury Plain.
A garrison town, Tidworth has a large number of servicemen and women posted to the area with an unusually youthful population profile as a result.
Nearly half of this community’s boundary is across county borders with Hampshire and Berkshire, which has remained largely untouched. The areas present boundaries with neighbouring Wiltshire communities are based more on geographical and social similarities.
