Mere and Tisbury
Mere and Tisbury
After Malmesbury, Mere and Tisbury combined have the largest geographical community, with a low density population. With chalk downland dominating much of the area, Mere and Tisbury has some truly beautiful countryside in the valley of the River Nadder. Alongside the eastern fringes of the Blackmore Vale, Stourhead Gardens, situated close to mere are popular tourist attraction.
Amongst the smallest communities in Wiltshire, Mere and Tisbury have both an urban and rural feel, due to the diversity in the region amongst its businesses. Long distance commuting is popular within the region with many residents or commuters regularly visiting neighbouring Dorset and Somerset.
