Living in South Wiltshire

Whether your choice is city, town or village, housing in Salisbury and South Wiltshire is of high quality.  House prices are in line with other major cathedrale cities and values have held well historically and recently during the recession.  There is an interesting cross section of different periods of building dating back to the early 1600s, with cobb and thatched cottages in some of the surrounding villages.

In the city, originally laid out as a grid system in 1220, old parts have been sympathetically restored thereby maintaining Salisbury's heritage.  Houses dating from the Queen Anne period to modern developments attract a wide range of buyers.

Looking to the future, there are positive initiatives underway to ensure that plenty of new houses are built to offer further choice to people moving to the area.

The total population for the old Salisbury District area is projected to increase from 116,000 to 123,000 in 2013.  A proportion of which, will be a significant in-migration of people between the ages of 30-59 in Salisbury City itself.

Council Tax
